Custom-Made Hand Woven Textiles from The Brown Cow Studio

 

The Brown cow Studio is fully equipped to produce custom-made textiles for almost any project. Christina Bergh and her talented weavers can weave just about any kind of fabric in the patterns and colors you specify.

We can work from your designs, or we can assist you in creating the perfect design. In addition to traditional weaving patterns, we can even weave images into our textiles from drawings and even from photographs. See our examples below to see some products that we can weave, and some pattern and color combination ideas.

We have woven just about everything, from blankets, to curtains, tablecloths, rugs, clothing fabrics, pillows, fine art tapestries for home decor, historic reproductions of Native American and Spanish Colonial designs, and our exclusive woven interpretations of the work of famed Santa Fe artist Gustave Baumann.

Our Santa Fe studio is fully equipped to handle the
largest projects. The Brown Cow Studio's eleven
hand-looms include:

- A 14 foot tapestry loom that makes it possible
to weave large scale architectural tapestries.

- 12 foot and 8 foot wide rug looms

- Two computer-assisted Jacquard looms for weaving
complex designs with fine details. These looms
allow weaving designs from photographs and drawings.

The completed blanket. This will be one of two blankets woven by Christina Bergh that will be used as props in "Imagine That", a Hollywood movie starring Eddie Murphy that is being produced by Paramount Pictures for release in the summer of 2009. Christina drew the design for the studio's approval, hand-dyed the yarns to match the colors requested and wove the blanket by hand in our Santa Fe studio. She made two identical copies of the blanket for the studio.
